Art is Our Voice

Art is Our Voice
The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider's web. -Pablo Picasso

Tribute to Bob McGloin

Our dear friend, Bob McGloin, recently passed away peacefully while he was a patient at Rhode Island Hospital. There will be a memorial service in a few weeks, and the details will be posted on the blog.
Bob was well known at McAuley House as well as in the East Providence community. He was part of the team in the early years of McAuley Community House.
Bob was a talented, generous, insightful artist not just in art, but of life itself. He was a painter, illustrator, ceramist, and short story novelist. His paintings were always coveted by patrons at the annual art show. Many of us have sat next to Bob for years in our weekly art group. We will miss his devoted presence, his wit, and his caring ways. We'll miss you Bob, but know your spirit will soar above us in the many birds you so honored in your paintings.
