Art is Our Voice

Art is Our Voice
The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider's web. -Pablo Picasso

Our Voice is Strong

As artists we often express our feelings, our thoughts, and our passions through our art.  The collage above is a collection of photos I took of David as he worked on his collages. The first collage was a tribute to the refugee crisis and all the uncertainty it has caused so many people around the world as well as in our own country. It's a multi- image collage organized to capture the viewer's attention as soon as contact is made. You know what it means, and the more you stare at the work- THE HEAVIER YOUR HEART BECOMES...

The painting above is Linda's work in progress. I love her
use of color and how it enhances the linear movement you see as you go from section to section of the painting. I almost feel as if I'm reading a prayer as I study the work wondering if it's meant to be part of someones journey, or is it a journey just waiting for us to wake up to ?

Maria is still working on this sweet painting. The giraffe looks like it might be a baby waiting for his Mom.  Maria's paintings have a whimsy yet serious side to them- kind of like Maria...

Thank you to the artists for sharing your work and your gifts.
