Art is Our Voice

Art is Our Voice
The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider's web. -Pablo Picasso

Ideas to help you celebrate Winter Solstice

'Winter'  By Donna
Winter Solstice is Wednesday, Dec 21st, 2011
Here are a few ideas to honor the day

Gather some Ivy and write prayers for the world on them with gold or silver pens, hang them from your window with some wool or gold thread. Ask friends to contribute. Or give them to friends. Maybe leave them tied to park benches as gifts for strangers to find.
Create a Winter Solstice altar on a window cill or shelf with your favourite statue, stars and ribbons. Light a new nightlight there each dawn or dusk for three nights over the Solstice.
Light a candle first thing each morning and dedicate the new flame to your reconnection with your inner light
Tie ribbons on a Oak branch and make wishes for positive change in the world
Consciously mark the shortest day. Notice and appreciate the returning light.
